Join TELL for a screening of the documentary “Japan’s Secret Shame”, a film telling the story of a female journalist who shocked Japan with a public allegation of rape.

The film outlines her allegations against a senior journalist and biographer and addresses the wider social issues of gender and attitudes towards sexual violence in Japan.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion, where we hope to explore the themes outlined by the film and continue the conversation about the challenges of reporting and seeking justice around sexual violence.

The screening is free to attend.
