Peer Safeguarding

Peer Gatekeeper Training is a common, school-based strategy for suicide prevention, in which informal helpers (friends, classmates) are educated in noticing warning signs and risk factors, as well as resources to support peers.

TELL Japan offers a series of student-focused workshops and training aimed at educating young people in Japan about common mental health issues faced by teens. Topics covered include anxiety, self harm, depression and suicide, substance abuse, LGBTQIA+ Identities, and psychosis in young people.

Student participants are given the opportunity to engage in interactive activities and breakout discussions facilitated by TELL staff. Workshops can be conducted either in person or online, and can be customized to meet specific time constraints.
