TELL is proud to host three psychologists from Dhaka to talk to us about the field of mental health and psychology in Bangladesh, including the challenges of working with a population unfamiliar with psychology and the work of treating trauma in refugees trying to adjust and integrate.

Each psychologist will deliver a short talk, and there will be time for questions and discussion.

​Ms. Jahan will discuss what it is like to offer psychotherapy services in a country where psychological and psychiatric services are not well understood or commonly taken advantage of by the majority of the population, and where people pay out-of-pocket for such care. Comparisons with the situation in Japan will be welcome.

Ms. Subah will talk about the pathbreaking counselling, psychotherapy, and psychiatry clinic that she and colleagues have recently established in Dhaka. She will focus on community outreach and education, including creating a clientele among a population unfamiliar with the science and practice of psychology.​

Dr. Mozumder will speak on his work training psychologists who work with traumatized refugees, and his efforts with the Bangladeshi communities surrounding the camps and most influenced by their emergence.
