As we welcome the new year, we want to start the year with a big thank you to everyone who supported TELL and our Lifeline in 2024. With your support, we handled 9,411 connections, 1,057 more than last year, in which December saw 799 people reach out for support, hitting a five-year record.
We would like to say a special thank you to those who supported our Toll-Free call minutes campaign, which saw over 1,500 more people reach out to our phones for support. Thank you for helping to make a real difference in people’s lives.
2024 saw a record-high number of bankruptcies in Japan, and many households struggle with increasing debts as living costs continue to rise and wages remain low.

Donations to Lifeline will cover the toll-free cost of a call answer for help without someone worrying about the price of a call, allowing them to feel a sense of connection and be met in their darkest moment. Access to lifeline crisis support in times of need is essential in helping people connect to resources and support and, most importantly, not be alone.
