She then did stints as a pastry chef and attended law school before returning to her first love, psychology, and getting her Masters degree at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. She worked for many years as a hospital therapist and helped develop an integrative therapy training program bringing together depth psychotherapy, the arts, somatics, and spirituality to support patients struggling with health and existential crises. She recently moved to Tokyo with her family and is enjoying looking for the best playgrounds and parks with her young son and studying Japanese. She hopes to learn the 2000+ most frequently used kanji as soon as possible.
