Richard Okuno

Richard Okuno has been a member of the international community in Japan his entire life. He was born in Tokyo to an Irish mother and a Japanese father. He received a bilingual education at international schools in Japan before completing his studies in the United States. He graduated from Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts and Wesleyan University in Connecticut. Richard started his career in the financial services industry in 1986 and has worked for global financial institutions in New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and London. Prior to joining TELL he was a government official with the Financial Services Agency of Japan. He became TELL’s Director of Outreach in April 2024 to manage external relationships and provide support to the organizations many constituencies. Richard lives in Tokyo with his wife and two daughters.
