Educational Psychologist— Yamashita-Hecht earned her M.S. degree in school psychology from the University of Oregon
After completing her degree, she practiced as a school psychologist in the United States. She then earned her M. Ed and Ph.D. in school psychology from University of Utah. She has completed her pre-doctoral internship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus Ohio where she worked exclusively with families who have children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Her training background includes behavioral and cognitive behavioral approaches. She has extensive experience working with children with disabilities, including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Dr. Yamashita-Hecht’s training and interest includes assessment, Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS), Multi-tier System of Supports (MTSS) early intervention for children with disabilities, parent training, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), schoolwide training for teachers and administrators, social skills training and behavior consultation.
