The Connoisseurs’ Auction is our major fundraiser, and attracts 150 distinguished guests who bid on 25 lots of premium wine, luxurious accommodation, and exceptional goods and services in both live and silent auction settings. The event also features fine wine from some of Japan’s top distributors and free-flow Champagne.

Japanese Edition of “When Someone in the Family Drinks Too Much” Now Available
Last autumn we told you about TELL mental health counselor Machi Taniguchi’s work with a publisher to translate “When Someone in the Family Drinks Too Much” into Japanese, for which she set up a crowdfunding website to help cover costs.
Tokyo’s Rainbow Week and LGBTI-supportive Legislation 2017
As we head into April, this year’s Tokyo Rainbow Pride Festival is just around the corner, marking one of the most influential LGBTI events in Japan. This year’s Pride Festival will start on April 29th with a week-long list of around 60 activities, including exhibitions, lectures, workshops and parties, finishing with the Pride March on May 7th.
International 2017 Women’s Day #beboldforchange
March 8th marks International Women’s Day. A day to celebrate the social, political, cultural and economic achievements women have made around the world. Since the first recorded International Women’s Day was celebrated in 1909, many positive changes have been seen, such as women’s right to work; to vote; to property; to control over their bodies and reproductive rights. However, while we recognise how far we have come, gender equality is still a distant ideal.
What Is Distance Counseling?
TELL was founded in 1973 to provide crisis and suicide prevention support for the international community in Japan, and in 1991 added face-to-face counseling and outreach services that bridge gaps in the Japanese language-focused health care system.
TELL Runathon 2017
This year’s TELL Runathon has been reinvented as the Sound Mind, Sound Body Run & Walk, a celebration of mental and physical good health organized in partnership with our good friends at Second Harvest Japan. The Sound Mind, Sound Body Run & Walk will take place at the Tama River (Tamagawa) running course on Saturday, May 27th, and all proceeds from the event will support TELL and Second Harvest Japan, accredited not-for-profit organizations.
