Message From Royanne Introducing New Lifeline Director

We are pleased to announce Arnold Arao as TELL’s Lifeline Director. Since joining TELL in 2019, Arnold has held multiple leadership roles within the organization including working with training, as a volunteer coordinator, and more recently, as the Lifeline’s Associate Director before stepping into his new role leading the Lifeline as its Director. Throughout his time at TELL, Arnold developed broad experience in crisis intervention, volunteer leadership, and program development.

In addition to his experience, Arnold has built on his background in developmental psychology, adding accreditation as a Certified Volunteer Administrator and is now recognized as Japan’s QPR Gatekeeper Master Trainer.

In this executive role, Arnold provides strategic oversight of TELL’s telephone and chat-based crisis services, with a focus on service quality, ethical practice, and long-term sustainability. Arnold leads a multidisciplinary team of staff and volunteers.  I have asked him to work closely with partners and stakeholders to strengthen systems of support and expand access to mental health services.  “When someone reaches out to the Lifeline, they do so with trust, often sharing with us their most difficult moments. It is our responsibility to honor that trust with genuine care, compassion, and connection.”

Arnold brings a systems-oriented and people-centered approach to leadership, shaped by a deep commitment to both those seeking help and those providing it. Under Arnold’s leadership, TELL’s Lifeline will continue to serve as a trusted resource for individuals in crisis, guided by thoughtful stewardship, professional rigor, and a clear commitment to those who seek help and those who provide it.
