Arnold is passionate about supporting the community and believes strongly in the power of volunteerism to make impactful change. Arnold has established infrastructure, educated and trained people as well as assisted in disaster response programs in communities around the world. Working with various volunteer associations in Japan, Arnold has promoted cross-cultural collaboration, coached sports and even founded a community fund-raising event to support youth in foster care. With an academic background in education and developmental psychology, Arnold has also worked in public and private schools and universities as an instructor and counselor.
Over the years with TELL, Arnold has served as an instructor for both Psychological First Aid and Suicide Gatekeeping and has worked in the roles of Assistant Trainer, Volunteer Coordinator and Associate Director of the Lifeline. Through all this, Arnold remains committed to TELL’s mission of addressing our community’s increasing mental health needs and supporting and empowering the staff and volunteers who dedicate their time and effort to this cause.
In his off time, you might find Arnold reading quietly in an out of the way coffee shop, touring Japan on the bike or enjoying a timeless moment with his partner and their adorable dog.
