Listening is one of those things that we take for granted, we don’t think of it as a skill. But learning to listen well is a challenging and uncomfortable process which often forces us to confront some of our most closely held ideas about who we are. Our lifeline volunteer training programme has the potential to be life-changing and will give you skills that you can apply to your own life. Your biggest impact though, will be on the lives of strangers going through painful times and needing someone to listen to them without bias or judgement.
The training requires 8-10 hours a week for 10 weeks and a total of 4-5 months from the start of the course to working independently on the lifeline. If you are willing to commit the time and energy required and you are willing to do all that without the ability to share anything about it with friends and family, please read the training FAQ and fill out the training application form here: https://telljp.com/pctraining/.
If you are not in a place in your life right now where this is something you can commit to, you can still help us by sharing this with your social circle! Together we can make a difference to the lives of people at their most vulnerable.
