TELL Legend: Graham Harris
Support Worker 1990 – 2010
Graham Harris’s journey with TELL began in 1989, and unlike most volunteers, he started as a board member. Drawing on his professional background and connections, Graham dedicated his first year to supporting TELL’s fundraising and outreach efforts. However, his true passion lay in providing more direct support to those in crisis.
In 1990, Graham stepped down from the board to undergo the TELL Lifeline training, and by early 1991, he was on the phone as a Crisis Support Worker. Over the next two decades, Graham devoted more than 1,500 hours of direct service to helping people in need.
Beyond his frontline service, Graham served as a Lifeline supervisor for six years and also played a vital role in training new support workers. His sessions on grief and loss were especially impactful. By openly sharing his own experiences with loss, Graham offered insight, empathy, and inspiration, helping others become more compassionate and capable support workers and connect with users more deeply.
Thank you, Graham. Your legacy lives on in the countless lives you’ve touched. You are and always will be a TELL Legend.
