Psychometrist Assistant
TELL Counseling seeks a Psychometrist Assistant to be responsible for supporting services provided by the TELL Assessment and Testing team of TELL Counseling. They are also responsible for receiving instruction from the testing team and lead psychometrist, ensuring that testing resources, client communication, and other required administrative functions are completed in order to effectively support TELL’s assessment services.
This is an independent contractor position and caseload will be discussed during the interview process. Our team mainly works with children from the international community.
Minimum requirements:
- Have a bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of psychology or a related field
- Able to offer services in English. Japanese and English bilingual applicants are highly welcome.
- Reside in the Tokyo region with a visa secured with work permission.
- Minimum 2.5 year commitment (this includes training period)
- Ability to join 2 monthly meetings online
- Priority will be given to those with experience administering WISC/WAIS/WIAT/other standardized tests.
- Experience with children is welcome.

Principle functions include the following responsibilities:
- Scoring of hand scored assessment
- Report writing for administering and scoring when applicable
- Online testing set up support; ensuring that clients are set up for online testing
- Conducting intake sessions with written notes for the tester and complete the draft of
- the background/ demographic section of the report under the supervision of a licensed psychologist
- Support in-office setup, administration, and clean-up for lead tester when applicable
- collaborate with the testing team as necessary
- Coordinate with intake coordinator and troubleshoot questions regarding assessment
