Sophia is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia. She was born in Vietnam and grew up in Sydney, Australia. She holds a Master of Psychology (Clinical) degree from the University of New South Wales, and has over 10 years of clinical experience across private practice, university-based clinics, and not-for-profit organisations.
Her approach to therapy is collaborative and integrative, primarily drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and attachment-based approaches. She has extensive experience supporting individuals experiencing attachment and relationship difficulties, anxiety, family of origin issues, low self-esteem, and adjustment to life events. Having lived across different cultures herself, Sophia has a special interest in supporting individuals navigating questions of identity, belonging and cultural adjustment.
Sophia is dedicated to creating a warm and supportive space where clients feel safe to be themselves and explore their experiences openly. She works alongside clients to deepen their understanding of themselves and develop new ways of responding to life’s challenges. She is passionate about supporting individuals struggling with longstanding patterns of thinking and behavior to develop more flexible and authentic ways of relating to themselves and others.
In her free time, Sophia enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, spending time in nature, and trying different Australian-style cafes in Tokyo.
