Jo has worked as a school counselor in both Chicago’s therapeutic schools and international middle and high schools in Shanghai, China. Jo brings hands-on experience in supporting students’ emotional well-being and navigating complex family dynamics.

Jo works closely with children, families, and schools. She specializes in supporting young people struggling with mood instability, depressive moods, depression, anxiety, and social skills challenges. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Jo focuses on building a benign, trusting relationship. She takes time to understand their unique social and cultural background, helping them discover their sense of belonging, worth, and social-emotional strength within their environment. Jo deeply values partnering with parents and schools, believing that a supportive, compassionate support system is key to children’s mental and physical health.
