Takako Uemura (LMFT, ATR)

Ms. Uemura is a psychotherapist. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of California, USA. She is also a registered Art therapist and is bilingual in both Japanese and English.

Ms. Uemura obtained her master's degree in Marital and Family therapy with Art therapy from Notre Dame de Namur University in 2010. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adult individuals, and families at outpatient mental health clinics, and child welfare organizations. Her clinical interests include parenting, co-parenting for adaptive families, trauma/sexual trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, cultural adjustment/acculturation issues, identity issues and behavioral issues. She also specializes in child abuse prevention and healing from child abuse. Ms. Uemura utilizes family system and mindfulness approaches to heal trauma holistically. Ms. Uemura also provides art therapy to children and psychotherapy for individual adults, couples, and families in the Tokyo office.
