Dr. Sheila is a Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) licensed in the State of Tennessee with over 10 years of clinical experience and over 4 years of teaching higher education. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Counseling and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
She has experience working with women, men, children, couples, and families. She utilizes a client-centered therapy approach to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, and empathic space for clients to address their difficulties and rediscover their strengths and connections.
Her therapeutic approaches are Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) but uses a variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions depending on each client’s needs. She has experience treating a wide range of issues including relationship problems, trauma, adjustment issues, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, stress, and many other challenges.
When not counseling clients, teaching psychology courses at local university, or supporting fellow therapists, Sheila loves reading, hiking, yoga, meditation, and traveling with her husband of 26 years and their four children.
