Noriko is a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) licensed in the State of Minnesota with over 20 years of clinical experience. She holds a MA in Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy.
She has practiced psychotherapy at a mental health clinic for 4 years, then she has had a private practice working with women, men, children, couples, and families for 4 years. She also worked at a mental health unit at an HMO and she enjoyed providing tele mental health services for clients all over the US from the east coast to Hawaii for 16 years.
Her approach is client strength-based. She offers soothing, compassionate, and positive support to empower clients. She utilizes a variety of evidence-based therapeutic interventions depending on each client’s needs.
She has experience treating a wide range of issues. She works well with clients who are dealing with anxiety, stress, depression, relationships, relocation adjustments, and many other challenges.
She has a Certificate in Intrinsic Coach Health and Effectiveness and she made her services available to many clients who are busy managing work and family, life transitions, and adjustment issues. She supports clients to improve their health and wellbeing and live their busy lives effectively.
She was born in Tokyo and lived in Yokohama and Nagoya. She also lived in Arlington, OH for a year for a teaching internship at a local elementary school. She enjoyed her internship in K-12, especially tutoring individual students. She also lived in Minneapolis, MN, San Diego, CA, Frankfurt, Germany, and Vancouver, Canada.
When not counseling clients, she enjoys watching helicopters, airplanes, ships, and lifeguard activities at the beach. Her favorite treats are Earl Grey tea and German cherry cheesecake. She loves sushi, croquette, tempura and karaage bento. She also enjoys reading books, manga and watching anime, and figure skating.
