Psychotherapist/Clinical Social Worker— Masami Marson is an English and Japanese bilingual psychotherapist
She moved back to Japan in August, 2020 after living in the U.S.A. for 16 years. She is a licensed clinical social worker in Oregon with over 13 years of clinical experience. She has worked with a variety of presenting issues, including adjustment issues, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Masami strongly believes the importance of treating individuals as a whole. She also believes that every one of individuals has their own story to tell. One size does not fit all. For these beliefs, she blends elements from different therapy approaches and tailor her treatment according to each client's needs. In her work, she has utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, narrative approach, psycho-educational approach, systemic approach, and humanistic approach.
Masami values collaborative work with her clients. She helps them clarify their problems and goals. The journey toward more peace of mind may be long and painful. Masami believes that her role is to support you in your journey. She normally assigns homework between sessions because practicing what you are learning helps you progress in your journey.
