Momoko Yamashita Hecht, (PhD)

A Psychologist— Dr. Hecht earned her M.S. degree in school psychology from the University of Oregon, and PhD from University of Utah.

After completing her M.S. degree from the University of Oregon, she practiced as a school psychologist in the United States. As a school psychologist, she gave trainings to the teachers, helped schools implement academic interventions and PBIS, MTSS systems.  She then earned her M. Ed and Ph.D. in school psychology from the University of Utah. She has completed her pre-doctoral internship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus Ohio where she worked with families who have children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She is trained in conducting assessment for younger children for early identification of developmental disabilities and providing interventions.

Her training background includes behavioral and cognitive-behavioral approaches. She has experience working with children with disabilities, including children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Dr. Hecht’s training and interest include assessment, Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS), Multi-tier System of Supports (MTSS) early intervention for children with disabilities, parent training, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), schoolwide training for teachers and administrators, social skills training and behavior consultation.

Dr. Hecht is a licensed psychologist in the state of Ohio.
