Chizuko Ogane, CP, PP, CC

Ms. Ogane earned her Masters in Education from the University of Maryland. She has more than 20 years experiences as a therapist and worked at a mental hospital, educational settings, and organizations.

Chizuko is Okinawan and knows both Japanese and American culture. She earned her Masters in Education from the University of Maryland. She has Japanese Certification of Clinical Psychologist, Public Psychologist, and Career Consultant. She has more than 20 years experiences as a therapist and worked at a mental hospital, educational settings, and organizations. Chizuko has worked extensively with individuals, families, and groups who have experienced difficulties related to anxiety, depression, domestic violence, parenting issues, and harassment.

At the educational settings, Chizuko provided individual counseling to students, parents faculties at elementary, junior, and senior high schools. She had extensive work with psychological first aid and risk management at schools, and provided supervision and consultations to the faculty. She utilizes a variety of evidence based techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. She has experiences as a lecturer regarding mental health, work stress, and anger management for workers at organizations. She has been an adjunct instructor at Okinawa International University since 2006.
