With over 30 years of experience in Japan Public Affairs, Timothy Langley is the founder and driving force behind Langley Esquire. After obtaining an L.L.M. from Tohoku University, a dual J.D./M.S.F.S. from Georgetown University, and an L.L.M. from the University of Denver, Timothy has made his name in combining his comprehensive understanding of international law with an exceptional perspective gained from a career spent getting the impossible done in Japan. Known as the first foreigner in the Japan National Diet, having served as a Diet secretary under former Japan Foreign Minister Taro Nakayama, Timothy is well-known as an insider and specialist in Japan’s political landscape. He has used his experience inside Japan’s legislature in successful projects as political attaché for U.S. presidents and diplomats, building a reputation as a bridge between Japan and U.S. leaders. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Timothy is best known as an enabler for foreign corporations in Japan, having served as General Counsel and Director of Public Affairs for Apple Computer Japan and General Motors Asia-Pacific.
