Dr. Hopkins is a clinical psychologist, licensed in the state of Florida. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2005 from Nova Southeastern University in Florida and completed her post-doctoral training at the University of Miami School of Medicine with a focus on early intervention for children at high risk for abuse and/or neglect.

Dr. Hopkins specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children with a variety of behavioral and emotional needs, such as autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD and general school and learning needs. She is experienced in the use of Applied Behavior Analysis techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy techniques with younger children. She has regularly worked as part of multidisciplinary teams, and has extensive experience consulting with parents and teachers to improve behavior and learning for children in school and at home. Dr. Hopkins also has experience with adult populations, specifically in the treatment of substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. She currently serves as a Clinical Preceptor for the Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Program (SARP) at Yokosuka Naval Hospital, Japan, where she provides clinical supervision and training to counselors in the areas of Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and CBT techniques. She also serves as an adjunct professor to University of Maryland University College (UMUC) Asia and teachers courses in Psychology. Dr. Hopkins is available for child assessment, and child and adult psychotherapy in both the Tokyo and Yokohama offices.
