TELL is delighted to participate in the Tokyo Pride Parade and Festival again this year.
For the past few years TELL has made a noise about mental health issues that LGBTQ people face, particularly young people, including higher rates of depression, anxiety, substance, being the victim of bullying and attempted suicide. By participating in various Pride activities we at TELL aim to be a catalyst for change in the manner in which mental health issues are recognized, talked about and treated. And we welcome our friends in the international community to join us!

WHO: High school age and up volunteers. Any language okay!

WHAT: Volunteer at the TELL booth at the Festa and/ or walk with us in the Parade. A detailed (3-4 hour) shift schedule for the booth will be sent to those who are interested.  Volunteers who walk in the parade will receive a t-shirt.

At the booth, we will share information about TELL and TELL’s services as well as information about mental health issues that particularly impact LGBTQ people. We will have TELL promotional materials and materials from our supporters.

At the parade, we will walk together and wave rainbow pride and transgender pride flags. We will also have TELL Lifeline cards to pass out to parade spectators. Fingers crossed for good weather!

FESTA: May 6-7 (Sat.-Sun.) @ Tokyo Yoyogi Park (10am – 6pm)

PARADE: May 7 (Sun.) Exact time TBD

This is a fun-filled event and a great opportunity to perform community service by showing support and openness to our neighbours.

If you would like to volunteer or have questions please email outreach@telljp.com.
