This workshop will help parents and educators understand the risk factors, symptoms, and ways to address depression and comorbid disorders (e.g., anxiety, eating disorders) in adolescents. The goal of the workshop is to create awareness regarding adolescent depression and discuss ways to help a depressed adolescent.
Dr. Shruti Rane is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Maryland, USA. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Houston. Dr. Rane completed her pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral residency in pediatric neuropsychology, and worked at the Kennedy Krieger Institute as a pediatric neurologist prior to moving to Japan. Dr. Rane sees children for evaluation at TELL with a variety of developmental and neurological conditions.
